AUSTIN, TX – SEPTEMBER 16, 2013 – The State of Texas has just renewed CCI’s Cooperative Contracts Agreement, through which all Texas State Agencies and Local Governments can purchase Information Technology Consulting Services. “We are very pleased that the State of Texas chose to continue working with CCI through the Cooperative Contracts Program,” said CCI President Arshia Tayyab. “Serving Texas has been a joy for CCI as the program is very streamlined and efficient and it is so rewarding to see the impact to the people of Texas from our work.”
This ITSAC renewal builds upon CCI’s existing Contract for Procurement Consulting Services through the National Association of State Procurement Officers (WSCA-NASPO), allowing CCI to directly offer Texas State Agencies IT Services through the State’s own ITSAC Collective Contracting Program, but also to help State Agencies with tight budgets to purchase any form of good or service via a nationwide Collective Contracting Program. Through these two programs—one National and one State-level—CCI offers complete end-to-end services to Public Entities in Texas.
Since joining the ITSAC program in 2009, CCI has helped the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services retire mainframe computers, the Comptroller of Public Accounts with disaster recovery and network security, the Texas Workforce Commission update the online unemployment insurance tools, the Department of Public Safety modernize its case management systems, the Health and Human Services Commission migrate to a new data center, and the City of San Antonio’s Police Department create a new website at www.sanantonio.gov/sapd.
“We are proud of all our work for Texas, but the City of San Antonio stands out for two reasons,” continued Tayyab. “First, because it was a Best Value project, meaning they felt we were the one company that best understood their needs and could do the project right without the need for competitive bidding. And second, because we helped them to create an online memorial of fallen officers, which is very touching and very human in how it honors these heroes of San Antonio.”
About The Texas State ITSAC Cooperative Contracts Program
Through the Cooperative Contracts Program the Texas Department of Information Resources assists state agencies and local governments with cost-effective acquisition of information resources by negotiating, managing and administering contracts with IT Providers. DIR makes it easier for these agencies and local governments to acquire these services, and leverages the buying power of all participants to provide volume discounts. Contracts negotiated and managed through the Cooperative Contracts Program resulted in over $4.6 billion in Customer purchases for the past 3 years combined.
About The WSCA-NASPO Cooperative Purchasing Organization
Since 1993, the Western States Contracting Alliance (WSCA) served as the primary cooperative purchasing arm of NASPO and encouraged, fostered, and guided participating members to work collaboratively in an effort to create true procurement cooperatives. WSCA-NASPO (aboutwsca.org) represents a unified, nationally-focused cooperative purchasing program that will leverage the collective expertise and experience of WSCA and NASPO, aggregate the demand of all 50 states, the District of Columbia and the five organized territories, and their political subdivisions and other eligible entities, and help spur innovation and competition in the marketplace.
